Student Resource Scheme (SRS)

What is the Student Resource Scheme?

A Student Resource Scheme (SRS) is an optional service provided by the school to offer a cost-effective alternative to purchasing consumables, resources and/or materials individually. It ensures that all participating students have access to the same standard of resources, allowing them to fully engage with the curriculum.

The objective of the Student Resource Scheme (SRS) is to provide parents a convenient, cost‐effective and time saving alternative to individual supply of resources for their students. The school can purchase resources at lower rates due to its bulk buying power.

Participation in the SRS is optional, and no obligation is placed on a parent to participate. If parents and carers choose not to participate in the SRS, they will need to provide these resources themselves.

Financial Hardship

Parents and carers experiencing financial hardship are asked to contact the school to discuss options available. All discussions regarding financial hardship are held in strict confidence.

SRS Participation Agreement

Consent to participate in the SRS is provided to parents and carers for each child at the point of enrolment. Consent is obtained through QParents, or the Participation Agreement form (PAF). The consent process outlines the terms and conditions of participation in the SRS. Parent and carers need to complete a new form if they wish to change their participation status. If required, the Participation Agreement form is available on this webpage from the related links or the office.

Is the SRS Participation Agreement Form required annually?

No, the Participation Agreement Form (PAF) covers a student's participation in the SRS for their entire time at the school. Each year, schools offer parents and carers the option to continue or change their participation in the next year's SRS. If a parent and carer chooses to continue SRS participation, no new PAF is needed. However, if they wish to change their child's participation status, a new PAF must be completed.

Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association Endorsement

Howard State School's SRS is endorsed annually by the P&C. Parents and carers are provided with annual information regarding the SRS fees and inclusions to make informed decisions on whether or not to participate in the SRS. Parents and carers will be notified before each P&C meeting where the SRS will be discussed.
